It Was All a Dream: Breaking Free from Worldly Falsehoods

A dream filled with falsehoods, premeditated traps, and scales of measurement that belong to this world—not our One True Living God. But God has brought something challenging and transformative full circle in my life.

In my quiet time with Him, I was reflecting on life, thanking Him for it. I thanked Him for my life, my face, my hands, my eyes—even my toothbrush and toothpaste. I looked around at everything right in front of me that we often overlook after having them for so long. With each breath, I ran a full list of thanksgiving to Him.

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks—bricks that rushed past me and broke every falsehood off of me. My perception of everything this world has told us completely and fully changed!

I started to tell God: These aren’t even Your requirements for us! The measurements of how we are meant to look, sound, and live in this world are not Your measurements of us! So why do we spend so much time asking You for things that aren’t even requirements of a holy, surrendered life?

Reassessing the Dreams We Chase

I had a deep conversation with God about the things I desired to accomplish. Were these truly my desires—or the world’s? As I surrendered my dreams to Him, He began to show me the illusion of success. I thanked Him for every proof on my body that I’ve been blessed by Him. Blessed to bear holy children who know Him. I even thanked Him for blessing my husband with the ability to produce.

I thanked Him for the body that gave birth one day and turned 40 the next. How many can say that?

And then I went deeper: “Lord, thank You for reorienting my life so I could dedicate it entirely to doing what You designed me to do. What You created me for.”

All the degrees I’ve earned mean nothing to Him. What matters is how I use the skills He gave me for His Kingdom, His platforms, and His glory. The degrees are simply “an addition to” all He has created me for.

The World’s Illusions vs. God’s Truth

The world has conditioned us to believe success looks like a list of achievements tied to our possessions and our age—what we should have accomplished by 30, 40, 50, or even 80. I’ve seen lists telling us what to have by age 80 to live a “fulfilled” life. Not a single one included God.

Ask yourself:

• Are the things you’re praying for aligned with His promises—or with what the world says you should have?

As I’ve surrendered worldly desires, God has provided far beyond what I asked. This is what Ephesians 3:20 means: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”

God’s Immeasurable Blessings

God’s blessings do not conform to worldly standards. The world tells us to strive for status, possessions, and recognition. But God tells us:

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:2).

“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).

When we pursue Him, His blessings overflow—immeasurable and eternal.

Breaking Free from Falsehoods

It’s time to reject the falsehoods we’ve been conditioned to believe. God has shown me that the prayers I’ve prayed for worldly things are too small. Why?

Because our prayers often reflect what the world says we need, not what God says we are meant to have.

James 4:3 warns: “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

Romans 12:2 calls us to: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

God isn’t limited by human systems. His blessings come directly from Him—no middleman needed!

A New Perspective on Life

We are more than numbers, tests, or societal expectations. God’s measurements of us are spiritual, eternal, and rooted in His perfect will.

• If you’re meant to have that role for Kingdom purposes, He will give it to you immeasurably.

• If you’re meant to start that business, He will provide everything you need immeasurably.

• If you’re meant to produce and sow into the Kingdom, He will give you seeds immeasurably.

Let’s align our prayers with God’s desires: “Lord, not our will but Yours be done.”

A Call to Action: Pray Differently

The world teaches us to pray for jobs, money, recognition, and worldly success. But God is saying:

• Pray for His highest glory in your life.

• Pray for His will to unfold—not the world’s illusions.

• Pray for your life to be a testimony of His immeasurable power, love, and grace.

Final Encouragement

God’s blessings aren’t tied to worldly systems. They are rooted in His eternal promises. Psalm 37:4 reminds us: “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Let’s break free from the heavy burden of worldly expectations. Let’s pray boldly for God’s immeasurable plans to unfold in our lives.

We are not of this world, and our blessings are not measured by it. Let God redefine your success—immeasurably, eternally, and beautifully.

Realignment Prayer:

Heavenly Father, align my heart with Your will. Remove every falsehood from my mind and replace it with Your truth. Teach me to pray for Your purposes, not the world’s desires. Lord, I surrender my life, dreams, and plans to You. Lead me in the path You created me to walk. I thank You for blessings that surpass what I could ask, think, or imagine. Let my life be a reflection of Your immeasurable grace and glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.

This message is a beacon of truth for anyone trapped in worldly standards. May it set hearts free and redirect lives to God’s immeasurable glory!

Now let’s pray differently…together.

A Powerful Prayer for God’s Will and Glory

Heavenly Father, El Elyon, Most High God, we come before You with humbled hearts, ready to lay down every worldly desire and align ourselves with Your perfect will. Lord, we confess that we have often sought after things that fade, things that this world deems as success, rather than seeking Your eternal glory and purpose for our lives. Forgive us, Father, and renew our minds with Your truth.

Father, we ask for Your highest glory to be revealed in us.

• Transform our prayers to reflect Your Kingdom, not the fleeting desires of the flesh.

• Redirect our hearts to pursue the gifts and purposes You have designed specifically for us.

• Remind us daily that we are Your vessels, created for Your glory and not our own.

Lord, we surrender every illusion the world has placed on us.

• We renounce the measurements, timelines, and expectations that have burdened us.

• Replace them with Your divine wisdom, guidance, and peace that surpasses all understanding.

• Teach us to delight in Your presence, trusting that You will give us the desires of our hearts in perfect alignment with Your will (Psalm 37:4).

Let our lives be a testimony of Your immeasurable power, love, and grace.

• Father, we ask for bold faith to walk the path You’ve laid before us, even when it doesn’t align with the world’s standards.

• May our obedience to Your Word and Spirit draw others to know You.

• Multiply every seed You’ve entrusted to us for Your Kingdom’s expansion.

We pray for discernment, clarity, and a deeper relationship with You.

• Sharpen our ability to hear Your voice above all others.

• Holy Spirit, guide our steps and guard our hearts from the deception of worldly success.

• Let us be a light in this world, reflecting Your truth in every decision we make.

Lord, we release our lives fully into Your hands.

• If it is not Your will, we do not want it.

• If it does not glorify You, we let it go.

• If it is not from You, we reject it.

We declare, in the name of Jesus, that our prayers will no longer be limited by the world’s definitions of success. You are our portion, our provider, our everything (Lamentations 3:24). We trust You to give us what we need, immeasurably and abundantly, to fulfill Your purposes in us.

Father, we ask You to bless us, enlarge our territory, and let Your hand be with us (1 Chronicles 4:10). Let us bring glory to Your name in all we do.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

This prayer is a clarion call to align with God’s divine will, leaving behind the falsehoods of the world. May it inspire all believers to pray boldly for His glory, trusting Him to bless them immeasurably!
